Europe's iOS Horror Gaming Scene: Q4 2020 Snapshot

As the year 2020 wrapped up, the horror game genre maintained a strong presence on the iOS platform in Europe. Sensor Tower's data gives us a glimpse into how five leading horror games performed in the fourth quarter of the year.

Identity V, published by NetEase Games, saw a significant increase in weekly active users, jumping from 73K in the last week of September to nearly 78K by the end of December. Downloads peaked in early November with over 12K, while revenue saw a dramatic rise in December, reaching 66K USD.

Illumix, Inc.'s Five Nights at Freddy's AR experienced a surge in downloads in late October, hitting 37K. The weekly active users spiked to 69K in early November but gradually declined to 46K towards the end of December. Revenue also peaked in the third week of December at approximately 19K USD.

tinyBuild LLC's Hello Neighbor showed impressive numbers, with downloads reaching a high of 77K in early November. Weekly active users saw a significant increase from 145K in September to over 239K in the final week of December. Revenue followed a similar upward trend, ending the quarter at 11K USD.

Five Nights at Freddy's from Clickteam, LLC had a steady performance throughout the quarter. Downloads peaked at 1.7K in the last two weeks of December, while weekly active users saw a modest increase from 5.9K to nearly 8K by the end of the quarter. Revenue saw a slight rise in December, reaching 5.8K USD.

Lastly, Dead by Daylight Mobile by Behaviour Interactive Inc. maintained a consistent number of downloads, with a peak of 18K in late October. Weekly active users saw a modest increase from 32K to 34K from the beginning to the end of the quarter, while revenue experienced a small uptick to 3.5K USD in the last week of December.
